On a balmy, hot summer Sunday afternoon in July , PJ Library & PJ Our Way families and friends made their way to Regal Short Pump for a private showing of Pixar’s newest hit, Inside Out 2.
To say that “Joy was at the console,” according to PJ Our Way enrollee Lila Shapiro, is an understatement.
There were tears of understanding, guffaws of hilarity, and expertly delivered animated jokes to connect with everyone.
No doubt each grown-up nodded in feelings of validation, seeing their emotions expressed so creatively on screen.
Thanks to Pixar’s Inside Out 2 Story Supervisor John Hoffman, Richmond, had a behind the scenes preview to information about the movie: “How many psychologists were involved?”, “Do Pixar staff get to meet the voice actors?”, and “What’s a “scratch” in animated movies?”
PJ Library of Richmond thanks co-sponsors Jewish Community Federation of Richmond and Jewish Family Services as well as the volunteers who helped to make the event.
