Kirva Hospice is guided by the Jewish value of supporting the mourner before and throughout the year following a loved one’s death.
Addressing patient and caregiver grief is a vital part of the Kirva Hospice experience. Anticipatory grief is the feeling of grief that occurs prior to the death. These feelings can include but are not limited to guilt, numbness, sadness, and anger.
Having grief support is a comforting part of the hospice experience for both the patient and their loved ones.
Under the guidance of our social worker and spiritual staff, we provide counseling along the way. In addition, our Rabbi provides the knowledge of Judaism’s traditions and customs throughout the grieving process to the families.
Kirva Hospice is dedicated to caregivers and families providing compassionate support beginning at admission and following for 13 months post death.
