We are incredibly grateful to the Greater Richmond community which has supported the inception of Kirva Hospice beginning in 2022 and its continued growth as one of only two non-profit hospices in the Richmond area.

Our partnership with Beth Sholom Living and Jewish Family Services strengthens our commitment within the Jewish community and the community at large. Our philosophy of care is deeply rooted in the Jewish traditions, and our name is derived from the Hebrew word (keer-vah), meaning closeness, caring, and companionship.

We have received generous donations from the community and businesses such as Tom Leonard’s, Wegman’s, Fresh Market and Tweeds.

At the heart of Kirva Hospice care are the patients who face the end of their lives with remarkable courage. Their stories, wisdom, and presence enrich the lives of those around them, and for this, we owe them our deepest gratitude. Kirva Hospice is dedicated to providing our patients comfort and support, both physically and emotionally.

Our staff, from doctors and nurses to social workers and volunteers, work tirelessly to ensure patients have a peaceful and dignified end-of-life journey. They are often the unsung heroes, offering emotional and physical support not just to patients, but also to their grieving families. Their work goes beyond routine medical care; it involves providing comfort, listening without judgment.

We are excited for you to join us at our upcoming fundraiser at Shops at 5807 on Patterson Avenue, Tuesday, Nov. 19, between 4 – 7 p.m. A portion of all proceeds sold will be donated to support our mission at Kirva Hospice.

Come out and shop for your holiday gifts!

We are truly grateful to all of you who make our hospice care possible. “It takes a village” is truly how we operate.
