On Tuesday, Oct. 15, sixteen members of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond’s Pearl Society gathered to assemble 300 hygiene bags to be distributed by local organizations to combat period poverty.
The event kicked off with our Dignity Grows representative Ellen Renee Adams sharing the importance of Federation and its impact on our Jewish community both here and abroad, “By staying focused on the struggles of women both in Israel and in our own backyard, the impact of our work this evening gains an even deeper meaning.”
Pearl Society Committee co-chairs, Bekah Nelson and Melissa Zinder-Moss added, “The variety of Pearl Society events provide an opportunity for women to socialize and unwind at times, and other times, we can unite under a purpose of tikkun olam. It’s a really special group.”
