Heartfelt… Profound… Hamish…

Lovely… were all words to describe the beautiful Elinor Bloom Marshall Humanitarian Award event.

Honoring the deserving Claudia Biegler, the occasion was a chance for her family and friends to show their love and appreciation for her dedication to Hadassah and the Richmond community.

Almost 200 people were treated to a brunch and program which included two musical tributes – one from Cantor Sarah Beck-Berman with Art Bloom (son of Elinor Bloom) and one from the adorable Kol Simcha Youth Choir of Rudlin Torah Academy.

Held at the Jepson Alumni Center at the University of Richmond, the program also included remarks from Keynote speaker Dr. Stacey Maslow, Hadassah Medical Organization Vice-Chair, and a message from Carol Ann Schwartz, National Hadassah President.

Claudia gave a moving tribute to Elinor Bloom Marshall who was a friend and mentor to her. She also spoke of her passion for volunteerism and Hadassah.

The award was presented to her by Mindy Bloom – daughter-in-law of Elinor, friend of Claudia and past Region President of Hadassah.

And the icing on the cake was the announcement that the event had exceeded it’s lofty $100,000 goal by 150%! $150,000 was raised to support The Herman Dana Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Hadassah Hospital!

Since October 7th there has been an even greater need for these youth mental health services. The funds raised for this event will go directly to helping children during this difficult and traumatic time.

Many thanks to Ann Eisenberg and Cheri Wolff, Co-Chairs of the event and their amazing and dedicated committee for their passion and hard work on this event!

According to Cheri, “After over a year of planning, our Elinor Bloom Marshall Humanitarian Award event was an unparalleled success! The $150,000.00 raised for Hadassah Medical Organization and the Herman Dana Division for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry was a testament to Claudia and our generous community.” Ann adds, “Our guests were dazzled, and the Bieglers and the Blooms were overjoyed! And so are WE.”
