Klezm’Or’Ami’m is a Klezmer band based out of Congregation Or Ami.
It includes members from two other Richmond synagogues and other members of the Richmond community. The band had a very busy November and December.
On Nov. 10 and 11, they performed at the Richmond Jewish Food Festival (RJF). The band has performed on both days of every RJF since its inception!
The band quickly switched to Hanukkah mode, rehearsing Hanukkah songs as they prepared for three performances in seven days! First up was the Court End “Winter Wander” program at the Valentine Museum. The band has performed at this popular community event nearly every year since 2008.
On Thursday evening Dec. 12, the band performed at Avery Point. This performance was followed by a return engagement at Cross Ridge on Saturday the 14th. For each of the Hanukkah performances, the band includes a set of seven Hanukkah songs plus many of their regular Klezmer tunes.
