A day in the life of Or Ami..
Shabbat started on November 15 with a half hour of Jewish meditation and then a service welcoming those who joined the congregation in the past year.
At Torah study Saturday morning, members noshed and deliberated on text (with some interesting speculation into how injunctions might apply today.)
A stalwart multigenerational group headed out to Woodland Cemetery to clean graves and appreciate the history of this African American burial ground created at a time when segregation was mandated by law.
Later that afternoon OATY – Or Ami Temple Youth got together to enjoy an escape room challenge. They managed to escape the room with time to spare, and then enjoyed some great pizza, ice cream, and time with friends.
That evening the congregation hosted and members jived to a performance by Chabibi in collaboration with the Richmond Folk Music Society.
