YACK-sponsored rock painting at Menorah Madness Party

On Thursday, Dec. 19, Beth Ahabah’s Young Adult Community Kibbitz, JCFR’s NextGen, the JCC’s JHub, and Beth El’s Bridge sponsored Menorah Madness, a Chanukah party for the young adults in the Richmond Jewish Community.

The event, which took place at Dominion Payroll in Scott’s Addition, featured delicious latkes and sufganiyot, games of trivia, prizes, dancing, a photo booth, and a bar offering Chanukah-themed drinks.

Beth Ahabah provided decorations and a rock painting station. All rocks painted that evening have been donated to Hebrew Cemetery so visitors can place them on loved ones’ graves. See photos above/below.

Thank you so much to everyone who participated in the project.

Chanukah Pajamukah

Members, guests, and the entire community were invited to celebrate Chanukah by wearing their favorite Chanukah pajamas, sweaters, t-shirts, and accessories to the Friday, Dec. 27 Erev Shabbat program.

All were invited to bring their own menorahs to light at the beginning of the service; the third night of Chanukah glowed brightly indeed!

The Beth Ahabah choir sang favorite Chanukah tunes, and the congregation enjoyed challah and Hershey’s Kisses at the end of the evening.
