The Jewish Community Federation of Richmond’s NextGen division celebrated Hanukkah in style with its first Menorah Madness event, held on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Over 100 young Jewish adults gathered at the Dominion Payroll Building in Scott’s Addition for an unforgettable night of celebration, connection, and community.

The evening, co-hosted by NextGen, The Bridge, JHub, and Congregation Beth Ahabah, provided an inclusive and welcoming space for Richmond’s young Jewish professionals.

Designed for attendees aged 21 to 45, it showcased the power of community-building through celebration and tradition.

The evening featured an electric atmosphere, with DJ David Sporn spinning tunes that kept attendees dancing well into the night. Guests enjoyed a Build-a-Latke bar offering a variety of delicious toppings, alongside complimentary drinks and festive treats that captured the spirit of Hanukkah.

Games and raffles added a playful and interactive element, with prizes that sparked plenty of excitement among attendees.

The Dominion Payroll Building’s modern and spacious venue added a touch of elegance to the celebration, making it the perfect backdrop for the festive décor, complete with menorahs, lights, and themed games.

“Menorah Madness has cemented itself now as one of signature events, after this year’s turnout exceeded all expectations,” said Avi Remetz, NextGen Manager. “Seeing so many Jewish young adults come together to celebrate and connect was a true testament to the vibrancy of our community.”

Attendees left buzzing with excitement, eagerly anticipating future events by NextGen and its partner organizations. Menorah Madness 2024 not only celebrated the joy and traditions of Hanukkah but also reinforced the strength and vibrancy of Richmond’s young Jewish community.
