The Richmond Jewish community, with just 24-hour notice, packed the Israel November Auditorium with about 70 people at the Weinstein JCC on the night of Feb. 26 to commemorate the Bibas family.
The program was spearheaded by Orly Lewis, CEO, Weinstein JCC; Rabbi Sherry Grinsteiner, Congregation Or Atid; and Tal Bahar, Shlicha, Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, creating an emotional touchpoint for our community that is grieving their loss.
Attendees watched a video of Yarden Bibas’ heart-wrenching eulogy for his family, Shiri Bibas, and their two sons, Ariel and Kfir.
Brief remarks were made by Bahar and several community leaders.
Sara Rosenbaum, the Federation’s Chief Impact Officer, who just returned from Israel after leading a community trip, addressed the amazing resilience of the Israeli people as they stand strong during these times of grief.
Additionally, candles were lit and prayers were said.
