YACK/JHub Textured Traditions

On Thursday, Feb. 13, young adults gathered at Beth Ahabah for an evening of noshing, schmoozing, and creating a beautiful and meaningful piece of art.
Each participant created their project on a canvas board using paint, glitter glue, rhinestones, printed scrapbooking paper, and Jewish-themed stencils. Everyone enjoyed taking home a frame-worthy masterpiece—and a new group of friends!
Interfaith Dialogue

This winter, Beth Ahabah and St. James’s Episcopal Church teamed up for their annual Interfaith Dialogue series.
The three sessions (the final two programs were combined due to snow) alternated between the church and the synagogue.
After a delicious dinner provided by the host congregation, the clergy talked about how their faiths formed in the U.S. in the first two sessions, and discussed the “prophetic voice” in each religion during the final session.
Young Adult Community Purim Celebration
On the evening of Saturday, March 8, young adults in the Richmond Jewish Community gathered for “Ani Lo Yahah,” a community masquerade Purim party at the Weinstein JCC.

Sponsored by Beth Ahabah’s Young Adult Community Kibbitz, the Jewish Community Center’s JHub, the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond’s NextGen, and Beth El’s The Bridge, the celebration featured games, professional dancers, glow-in-the dark favors and decorations, beverages, and delicious food.

Attendees danced the night away as they showed off some amazing Purim costumes!
