The Weinstein JCC Board of Directors, leadership, staff, and community members will come together to celebrate the past year at the Annual Meeting on Thursday, May 22, held in-person at the Center.
The evening will begin with a reception from 5:15 to 6 p.m., followed by the meeting from 6 to 7 p.m.
This event is free and open to all.
This year’s Annual Meeting theme, “Building a Future Together: Mission Achieved,” takes a playful twist on the iconic Mission: Impossible 1966 TV series.
The theme highlights how the Weinstein JCC has not only met—but surpassed—the ambitious goals set forth in the “Building for a Bright Future” Capital Campaign.
“Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we’ve achieved our fundraising targets and made significant updates to our facility, most of which are already complete,” said Orly Lewis, CEO.
The evening will celebrate this success, along with the positive changes made possible by the community’s commitment.
The meeting will also recognize staff members who have dedicated over 25 years of service to the Agency, including Dave Decker (25 years), Sharon Johnson (39 years), Dawn Kowal (26 years), Marianne Krumpe (27 years), Orly Lewis (26 years), Shari Menlowe-Barck (29 years), Donna Peters (43 years), Susan Quick (40 years), Gayle Smith (33 years), and Juanita Wilkins (27 years).
“The long tenure of so many of our staff speaks to the incredible sense of community and purpose at the Weinstein JCC,” said Leigh Anne Stevenson, Human Resources Administrator.
“It is a true testament to the positive work environment and the meaningful impact our team continues to make here.”
Additionally, the installation of the 2025-2026 Board of Directors will take place, with new Board members Sharon Brager, Art Mullian, and Gary Weiner joining the team. Chris Greenberg will be installed as President-Elect, and Charley Scher will assume the role of Vice President.
The following awards will be presented:
- 2025 Arenstein Family Youth Service Award – Kaden Staffenberg
- 2025 Edith & H.J. Bernstein Volunteer Leadership Award – Sarah Arenstein Levy
- 2025 Leroy B. Goldberg Award – Devon Barnhart
More information about these honorees will be shared in the May issue of The Reflector.
The Weinstein JCC is supported in part by a generous annual contribution and programming grants from the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond.
