Through May, the Museum is proud to feature the interactive biography of Holocaust survivor Eva Kor as part of our Dimensions in Testimony exhibit.
Born Eva Mozes in 1934 in Portz, Transylvania, Romania, Eva and her twin sister, Miriam, were sent to Auschwitz II-Birkenau, where they were subjected to human experimentation by Dr. Josef Mengele.
While most of their family was murdered, the twins survived and were liberated by Soviet forces in 1945.
Eva later moved to Israel and then to the United States, where she founded CANDLES—Children of Auschwitz Nazi Deadly Lab Experiments Survivors. She became a tireless educator and advocate for forgiveness, resilience, and healing until her passing in 2019.
