Scout Shabbat
Cub Scout Pack 437, as well as several other Scouting America units and one Girl Scout Troop, were represented at this year’s Shabbat Celebrating Scouting on Friday, March 21.
Congratulations to Desmond Montero of Pack 2806 for earning the Aleph Religious Emblem! For this award, he researched favorite biblical heroes, cities in Israel, famous American Jews, ritual objects, and weekly Torah portions. Mazal tov, Desmond!
Second Night Seder
Congregation Beth Ahabah celebrated Passover with a joyful family-friendly Second Night Seder on Sunday, April 13. Well over 150 congregants, families, and their guests attended. See photos at top/below
The Seder featured a Haggadah created by Rabbi Scott Nagel and Cantor Sarah Beck-Berman. Attendees provided delicious Passover foods—including a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options. (see photos above)
Children and adults participated in an interactive retelling of the Exodus story, which also featured bags filled with all ten plagues—jumping frogs, flying “hail,” clicking “locusts,” room-darkening sunglasses, etc.!
Thank you to everyone who attended for making it such a fun (and delectable) evening!
