Meditation:

Join us for 1/2 hour of Jewish Meditation at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 9, immediately preceding the 7:30 service.  No prior meditation experience necessary.

Book Club:

Book Club is meeting on May 5 and reading “The Rabbi Who Prayed with Fire: A Rabbi Vivian Mystery” by Rachel Sharona Lewis.

In June, we will read and cook recipes from ” A Drizzle of Honey: The Lives and Recipes of Spain’s Secret Jews” by David Gitlitz and Linda Kay Davidson.  There will be a potluck dinner with recipes from the book.

The Book Club will be on hiatus until September.

Celebrating the First Night of Passover

A full house gathered at Or Ami to celebrate the first night of Passover on April 12. The evening began with a Havdalah service.

Prior to the festive meal, Rabbi Ahuva led us through the Haggadah with songs led by Rachel. Along the way, we had several installments of the game Jewpardy with Passover- themed categories.

New this year, lemons were added to the Seder plates to remember the hostages still being held in Gaza.  Back this year were flowers for each table arranged by Ron Friedman with colorful blooms from his garden.

A big thanks to everyone who helped make the evening a success.
