Families have the opportunity to host summer <em>Shlichim <\/em>at the Weinstein JCC.<\/h4>\n<p>Every summer, the Weinstein JCC collaborates with the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond and the Jewish Agency\u2019s Summer <em>Shlichim<\/em> Program to bring <em>Slichim <\/em>(emissaries from Israel) to serve as staff members at their camps.<\/p>\n<p>This program acts as a cultural bridge, enabling dynamic young Israelis to impart the \u201cspirit of Israel\u201d to Jewish youth during the summer camp experience.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Shlichim<\/em> undergo a rigorous interview process along with a 4-day training seminar to prepare them for life in the United States.<\/p>\n<p>They are mature, English-speaking Israelis who have completed army or national service, possessing experience in various areas of education, and working as counselors, teachers, or childcare workers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Information:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Host families are needed to accommodate one (or both) <em>Shlichim<\/em> for a consecutive, two-week period.<\/li>\n<li>Each <em>Shaliach<\/em> must be provided with a private room featuring an individual bed.<\/li>\n<li>Host families are responsible for arranging transportation to and from the JCC Monday- Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/li>\n<li>Host families are expected to provide three meals a day (Monday thru Friday).<\/li>\n<li>Host families enrolled in Camp Hilbert will receive a discount on camp fees for the weeks they host.
