{"id":8768,"date":"2023-09-26T14:56:14","date_gmt":"2023-09-26T18:56:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/reflectornews.org\/?p=8768"},"modified":"2023-09-26T15:06:59","modified_gmt":"2023-09-26T19:06:59","slug":"happenings-at-brith-achim-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/reflectornews.org\/2023\/09\/happenings-at-brith-achim-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Happenings at Brith Achim"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By David Goldstein, Ph.D.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Jewish life \u201cSouth of the James\u201d has been busy with special occasions and High Holiday services.<\/h4>\n<p>September began with our \u201cPresident\u2019s Service,\u201d led by congregational co-president Brian Silver and sisterhood president Janis Sussman on the eighth.<\/p>\n<p>Rosh Hashanah services were led by Hazzan Moshe Sherman and accompanied by guest soloist Lynn Lapidus.\u00a0 Yom Kippur\u2019s Kol Nidre and morning services were also led by the <em>Hazzan<\/em> and his vocal guest performer.<\/p>\n<h4>Sept. 29 is <em>Erev Sukkot<\/em> with October bringing us <em>Sukkot <\/em>and <em>Simchat Torah<\/em> celebrations.
