By David Goldstein, Ph.D.<\/strong><\/p>\n September began with our \u201cPresident\u2019s Service,\u201d led by congregational co-president Brian Silver and sisterhood president Janis Sussman on the eighth.<\/p>\n Rosh Hashanah services were led by Hazzan Moshe Sherman and accompanied by guest soloist Lynn Lapidus.\u00a0 Yom Kippur\u2019s Kol Nidre and morning services were also led by the Hazzan<\/em> and his vocal guest performer.<\/p>\n Shabbat services are ongoing on Friday nights at 7:30 p.m., both in-person and on Zoom.<\/p>\nJewish life \u201cSouth of the James\u201d has been busy with special occasions and High Holiday services.<\/h4>\n
Sept. 29 is Erev Sukkot<\/em> with October bringing us Sukkot <\/em>and Simchat Torah<\/em> celebrations. Planning is underway for celebrations for these events, likely similar to last year’s \u201cKlezmer in the Sukkah\u201d and \u201cTorah Procession Party.\u201d<\/h4>\n
