Commitment: Approximately 20-30 hours\/year<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n Every year, JFS supports local area Jewish youth who need financial assistance to pursue their educational goals (see JELF program description below).\u00a0 Volunteers review students\u2019 on-line applications, interview applicants (This can be done in person or by phone), and write brief summaries to complete the application process.<\/p>\n Approximately one hour of on-line or phone training is required for JELF volunteers, and the training is provided by the JELF headquarters in Atlanta.<\/p>\n There is also a designated JELF contact person who is a very helpful resource as well, if needed.<\/p>\nIf you enjoy meeting with young adults as they make the transition from high school to college and other education opportunities, this volunteer position may be a good fit for you.<\/h4>\n
