Men discuss icebreaker questions at Federation social/networking event.

By Jill Grossman, JCFR Director of Women’s Philanthropy and Affinities

Nineteen men from our Jewish Richmond joined together on March 29 for an evening of good eats and drinks, conversation, community building and connecting.

(Right) Conor Shapiro shares some personal history with the group led by David Galpern (in black shirt.)

Attendees had an opportunity to catch up with old friends before being divided into random groups.  From here, each group was given 30 icebreaker questions to ask their fellow group members.  What was intended to be a 20-minute exercise in getting to know each other turned out to be an hour plus of fun, meaningful engagement.

Board members David Galpern and Brian Greene, co-chairs of JCFR’s Men’s 2022 Campaign, wanted to create a space for our  Jewish community men to mix and mingle.  The feedback received from several who joined the Men’s Sip and Socialize at Brambly Park and Winery in Scott’s Addition has been overwhelmingly positive.  Upcoming events are being announced soon.
