The Hadassah Super South Tri Region conference was held Sept. 9-11 in Atlanta.
Hadassah members from the Southern Seaboard, Southern and Southeastern regions, covering the mid-Atlantic and South met together to learn, share, socialize and bring home new ideas and enthusiasm.
The conference covered topics for all ages 20-90!
According to Arlene Wiener, Hadassah Richmond Co-President and one of four attendees from Richmond, “the conference fed my social, educational and spiritual needs. I made new Jewish friends from Charlottesville, Knoxville, New Orleans, and Hilton Head. I was made aware of how Hadassah issues can be advocated to our politicians. I also got a thorough education on infertility- what it means, how it can be treated and how it impacts the mental health of those going through it.”
Attending with Arlene were Gail Moskowitz, past Regional President who has recently returned to Richmond; Deborah Cohen, Richmond Book Group Chair, and Sharon Berry, Chapter Treasurer.
Arlene also commented on the interesting list of speakers who included a Black female reverend and a female Hindu Speech Language Pathologist. Jewish women also discussed interfaith community involvement.
Mindfulness exercises were shared along with meaningful Shabbat morning and Havdalah services.
Arlene came back energized for Hadassah and says, “I would love to share details on my experience to encourage others to attend future Hadassah conferences. Please reach out to me at 908-612-4466 to be treated to a beverage of your choice and hear about my experience.”
