As JFS’ new fiscal year begins, please join us in welcoming our new Board Members!

Rabbi Dovid Asher

Rabbi Asher has led Congregation Keneseth Beth Israel since 2011. He received semicha from Yeshiva University as well as a B.S. in psychology; he also earned a Master’s in mental health counseling from Pace University, making Rabbi Asher uniquely qualified to join the JFS Board.

Tiffany Ford, JD

Tiffany holds an MPA degree from VCU and a law degree from the University of Richmond. She comes to JFS with rich insights from her experience with the Virginia Department of Health, the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, and Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority. She is passionate, committed, and mission-driven!

Dan Jackson

Dan is recently retired and has enjoyed participating on many boards around Richmond, including the Weinstein JCC, the Richmond Jewish Foundation, and Williams Mullin. He has an accounting degree from the University of Alabama and is a member of Beth-El. Having cared for family members, Dan understands the value of the services JFS offers. He wants to act as a cheerleader for JFS and help make connections in the community!

Rachel Safren

Rachel is a recent transplant from Charlotte, N.C., where she served as Community Outreach Director for the local branch of Code for America. She’s been hard at work establishing roots in her new home, currently volunteering for Virginia Voice. Rachel is excited to contribute to the JFS mission!

Chris Way, JD

Chris has a finance degree from the University of Maryland and a law degree from the University of Kentucky.  Very involved in the community, he has served on the board of the Children’s Museum of Richmond and coaches basketball for the YMCA. Chris is impressed with the history and services of JFS and looks forward to sharing its mission!
