Thank you to everyone who joined in our Pesach celebrations this year, especially our first-ever Carytown Passover Festival! We can’t wait to share some photos with you in the June issue.

For May, our monthly events continue. Explore (and debate!) Jewish ideas about life in our adult education series, Jewish Learning Café. New topics are discussed at every session (May topics TBA), from complex questions about God to creating a more loving world. This series is open to anyone aged 13+ who is Jewish, wants to be Jewish, loves a Jewish person, or is just a little “Jewcurious.”

No Jewish knowledge or experience required. Light refreshments will be provided, sponsored by our friends at NCEJ. We will meet at Gather Midlothian from 6-8 p.m. on May 17 and 24. Free entry, but please RSVP through Eventbrite!

In lieu of tickets, we’re collecting donations for our mental wellness fund: donorbox.org/kehillah-mental-health-support.

Also at Gather we host monthly Shabbat dinners. Join us Fridays, May 20 and 27 from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., for an indoor catered dinner, followed by soulful acoustic melodies led by Robin Rio and words of inspiration with Rabbi Patrick. All are welcome! No Kehillah or Jewish experience required. Tickets are $19/person for your dinner and drinks (price adjusted for fees). Free tickets for those under 18! Get tickets through Eventbrite.

Spread the word: we’re hiring! If you’re a very organized person who believes in Jewish values and wants to see Jewish life thrive in public spaces, then consider becoming Kehillah’s Event Coordinator! All work is remote, on your own schedule. You are required to attend all events and would be paid for your attendance.

This role is contract, part-time, no benefits. The role is approximately six hours per week, $16.50/hr. with opportunities for increases in pay and hours. For questions and to apply, please send a resume and cover letter to rabbi@rabbipatrick.com with the subject line “Event Coordinator Role Application.” Read the full job description at https://kehillahrva.org/were-seeking-an-event-coordinator/.
