Love the skin you’re in and keep it healthy! Skin cancer is more than meets the eye…
Did you know 1-out-of-5 Americans will develop skin cancer by age 70. More than 2 people die of skin cancer in the U.S. every hour. Having 5 or more sunburns doubles your risk for melanoma.
Join Hadassah Richmond on Sunday, March 3, from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. at the Weinstein JCC and learn from two top medical experts in dermatology how to protect YOUR skin.
Skin cancer is growing but with regular screenings, you can treat most forms of skin cancer before they become serious.
Featured Speakers are Dr. Suzanne Peck, Dermatologist with Richmond Dermatology, and Dr. Andrew Poklepovic, Oncologist, VCU Massey Cancer Center.
Dr. Poklepovic treats a wide variety of cancers, including melanoma and carcinoma. Dr. Poklepovic is also a professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Palliative Care at the VCU School of Medicine.
Dr. Suzanne Kitces Peck, a native of Richmond, received her undergraduate degree from Emory University, and attended VCU School of Medicine and VCUHS for medical school, internal medicine training, and dermatology residency.
In addition to her board certification in dermatology, she is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as the National Psoriasis Foundation.
She spends time traveling nationally to speak to both medical providers and patients. She is an active member of the board of the Weinstein JCC.
The cost for the program is $18. Healthy refreshments will be served and there will be a SPF fashion show.
Co- Chairs and skin cancer survivors Claudia Biegler and Sylvia Farbstein invite the community to “Join us as we learn the benefits of early detection, the role of prevention and what’s on the horizon for treatment of skin cancer.”
