Jewish Family Theatre’s youth theatre program is excited to be back at the Sara Belle November Theatre to present its Second Stage musicals.
For its first theatrical production of the summer, the youth theatre cast, under the artistic direction of Debra Clinton and musical direction of Stephen Rudlin, will honor the late, great musician and lyricist, Stephen Sondheim, with its performance of Into the Woods.
One of Sondheim’s most popular works, Into the Woods takes everyone’s favorite storybook characters and brings them together for a timeless, yet relevant piece. This Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. Performances will be in-person and run June 1 – 12.
For its second musical production of the season, JFT’s Second Stage youth theatre program will present the classic tale, Peter Pan. Based on the story by J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan is one of the most beloved and frequently performed family favorites of all time. This high-flying Tony Award-winning musical has been performed around the world and delighted audiences for 60 years. With music by Morris Charlap and Jules Styne and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, Comden and Green, this Junior version will feature Hanna Clinton in her JFT directing debut! Performances will be in-person and run Aug. 18-28.
