The Weinstein JCC is proud to unveil an enticing selection of art classes and workshops designed to introduce the community to an array of artistic disciplines.

This diverse lineup caters to both children and adults and is led by accomplished local artists.

Classes for Children:

After School Beginners Hand building Pottery Workshops!

Instructor: Ilana Lessin

Young artists in grades 3-8 can embark on an immersive journey with the After School Beginners Hand building Pottery Workshops.

Participants will dive into the world of pottery, mastering foundational techniques like pinch pot, coil building, slab construction, and glazing. By the end of the workshop, students will proudly showcase three to four festive fall pottery pieces, available for pickup at the JCC two weeks after the workshop concludes.

Magical Pottery Palace: Enchanting Creations Fit for Royalty!

Instructor: Ilana Lessin

In this captivating session, young artists (grades 3-8) will explore the art of pottery, crafting enchanted projects that bring imagination to life. Techniques covered include pinch pot, coil building, slab construction, and glazing, resulting in three to four mesmerizing pottery pieces. Finished pieces will be glazed, fired, and available for pickup at the JCC two weeks after the workshop concludes.

Getting The Most Out of Your Digital Camera

Instructor: Ed Tepper

Adults seeking to enhance their photography skills can join Ed Tepper’s comprehensive workshop. Participants will delve into understanding their digital cameras, gaining insights into buttons and dials.

It’s important to note that participants are required to bring their own digital cameras with manual settings, as the workshop won’t cover smartphones and tablets.

Women’s Night Out: Introduction to Paper Mosaic

Instructor: Sandhi Schimmel Gold

A creative and interactive evening awaits as acclaimed artist Sandhi Schimmel Gold introduces the innovative paper mosaic technique.

Participants will transform everyday items like junk mail and packaging into unique works of art. The workshop blends ancient techniques with modern upcycling, resulting in eco-friendly, one-of-a-kind pieces.

All art materials, snacks, and beverages will be provided.
