Weinstein JCC unveils exciting details for Purim Celebration!

Get ready for a Purim Celebration at the Weinstein JCC, as the theme “Who is Your Hero?” takes center stage.

Mark your calendars for this event on Sunday, March 24, from Noon to 3 pm.

But that’s not all – the doors open at 11 a.m. for an exclusive sensory-friendly event, ensuring accessibility and comfort for individuals with sensory sensitivities.

Purim, known for more than just hamantaschen and graggers, celebrates the heroic acts of courageous individuals past and present.

Are you up for the challenge? Whether it’s a Moshe Dayan, Ben Gurion, Golda Meir, or your favorite Israeli hero costume, dress up and join us for special events during our Purim Carnival! Prizes await the best hero costumes!

The festivities continue with face painting, arts and crafts, a bounce house, and costume-themed activities for the whole family. Don’t worry about lunch – we’ve got you covered with kosher options available for purchase.

Experience the magic of Megillah reading in the Teen Lounge and savor delicious treats at the Hamantaschen Café in the Richard A. Arenstein Lobby (limited quantities available; first come, first served).

Join us in writing cards and letters to Israeli soldiers and displaced families, spreading joy and goodwill.

For those seeking a moment of tranquility, the Selma & Jacob Brown Senior Lounge will be set aside as a quiet room, ensuring inclusivity for all. Join us as we come together to celebrate Purim in a spirit of unity, joy, and heroism!

The community-wide Purim Celebration is supported by the Richmond Council of Jewish Educators (RCJE), a committee of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond (JCFR).
