Theatre is back at the Center!
After a long hiatus due to COVID, Jewish Family Theatre’s Second Stage youth theatre program started in June with a very successful production of Carrie, The Musical. Now, they are at it again with their second production of the summer, The Wizard of Oz, opening on Sunday, Aug. 29 and running through Thursday, Sept. 2.
Like so many girls her age, little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow. One day a twister hits her farm and carries her away over the rainbow to another world. Come join Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Tinman, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they travel the universe of Dorothy’s imagination.
The Young Performers’ Edition of The Wizard of Oz is a shorter adaptation of the popular musical specially tailored for elementary school and middle school aged children. With artistic direction by Debra Clinton and musical direction by Stephen Rudlin, this classic, family-favorite story by L. Frank Baum will delight audiences of all ages.
