Beth Sholom has some fun and exciting events planned for 2023.
Here’s a peek at what’s coming in the next few months.
Various Food truck vendors will continue to visit our campus twice a month for residents, staff and neighbors. This offers a convenient opportunity to try something new. In addition, A variety of activities are in store throughout the coming months—a jewelry show, exotic birds and special pet visits, musicians, art classes, special cooking demonstrations by Chef David and much more! We’ve also planned celebrations for Mardi Gras, Purim and Passover, including a wonderful Seder dinner for our residents.
In April, Mary Mikel’s Broadway Classics returns! Our residents loved Mary’s performance in September (pictured at top_ You may recall, Mary was born totally blind and is a 2021 Wake Technical Community College graduate.
She was honored to be selected in the first round of American Idol and for the NC Master Chorale, the official chorale of the NC Symphony. She was also delighted to be a finalist in the National Blind Idol, as well as sing with The Tenors in two concerts. Her one-hour concert is called “Broadway Favorites & More”.
Residents are looking forward to having The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in their back yard. In May the VMFA Artmobile will be onsite! The climate-controlled 53-foot Volvo trailer includes Wi-Fi to connect visitors with VMFA educators and interactive components to meet their 21st-century expectations. The main attraction of VMFA on the Road, however, is the opportunity for residents to see and experience authentic works of art from VMFA’s collection up close.
Watch for more in the coming months!
